You finish PTE Academic, check your email and hear that another student already has their result. If yours is still pending, compare your wait with Pearson’s published guidance before assuming something went wrong.Â
Pearson’s current PTE Academic page says most candidates receive results within two business days. Some results take up to five business days. A same-day result is possible, but it is not a deadline every candidate can expect.Â
Start with your account and emailÂ
Sign in to the myPTE account used for your booking. Open My Activity and select the relevant test to check for the Score Report. Check the inbox and spam folder for the email notifying you that your scores are available.Â
Keep a note of your test date and the time you first checked. If you need to follow up, a simple record is easier to explain than repeatedly refreshing the page.Â
Count working days rather than calendar daysÂ
When Pearson refers to working or business days, do not treat a weekend as ordinary processing time. If a weekend or holiday is involved, allow for that when reviewing the timeline and confirm the relevant dates with Pearson if you are unsure.Â
For Perth and regional Western Australia candidates, leave a buffer between your test and an application deadline. Travel, available test appointments and time to review a possible retake can all affect your plan. Book with room for an unexpected wait where your deadline allows it.Â
A delay does not tell you your scoreÂ
Pearson explains that some results need additional review, and that security checks can also cause delays. A pending result does not give you enough information to identify the reason in your own case.Â
Avoid trying to predict whether you passed from the length of the wait. Use the released Score Report to assess your performance. While you wait, keep light practice consistent rather than changing your whole preparation strategy because of an online comment.Â
If more than five working days have passedÂ
Check myPTE and your spam folder again, then use Pearson’s official support channels to ask about the outstanding result. Include your registration details, test date, test centre and a brief description of the account status.Â
Keep your account password private. If a deadline is close, separately ask the receiving organisation what evidence it accepts while a result is pending. That organisation must confirm any extension or alternative; a coaching provider cannot promise it.Â
If the email says your score is ready but it will not displayÂ
This is a different issue from waiting for scores to be released. Pearson advises trying the report again later and using its Customer Support form if the display issue remains after 24 hours. Follow the specific guidance on its Scoring Help Center page.Â
Review the result before planning another attemptÂ
When your result arrives, compare each component with your actual requirement. Identify the remaining gap and review relevant practice responses. For example, a Reading gap deserves a review of comprehension and summaries rather than an immediate return to the same mock-test routine.Â
Pearson says you can book another PTE Academic test once your results are released. Before booking, decide what you will change in your preparation. PTE PRO’s Perth classes page explains the coaching and feedback available if you need help reviewing your performance.Â
Frequently asked questionsÂ
Are PTE Academic results guaranteed within 24 hoursÂ
No. Pearson describes two business days as typical, with some results taking up to five business days.Â
Does a slower result mean a lower scoreÂ
The wait alone does not establish your score. Check the released report and contact Pearson about a delay outside its published guidance.Â
